Implant Supported Dentures

Are you tired of your loose denture?
Millions of people around the world are missing enough teeth to require the use of a denture. Many people struggle with loose or poor fitting dentures. If you have this problem, you already know the embarrassment of slipping dentures, not being able to eat the foods you love, and the problems and expense of messy denture adhesives.

Restore speaking and chewing ability with implant dentures

Implant dentures, also known as implant supported dentures, are exactly what they sound like— dentures that are secured in place using dental implants. Implant dentures hold a number of advantages over traditional dentures in that they:

  • Won’t slip or click out of place while in use
  • Allow a much higher degree of chewing power.
  • Don’t irritate the oral tissue inside your mouth.

  • Many patients prefer this option when they need to replace most of their teeth.

Dr. Jeff Gray is proud to offer multiple implant denture options customized to each patient’s individual needs:

    THE ALL-ON-4® TREATMENT CONCEPT

Get new teeth in a day in San Diego!

Did you know that, with the All-on-4® treatment concept, you can have a full set of teeth in a day? This approach to implant supported dentures uses four to six strategically placed dental implants to secure new teeth and provide extra jaw and bone support.

Your dentures won’t ever slip or click out of place. These dentures feel more permanent and provide several health benefits. Implant supported permanent dentures can help prevent bone deterioration and keep you feeling healthy and youthful longer.

At our office, we offer this treatment concept, and we can create an even better permanent denture option with All-on-X at no additional charge.

    ALL-ON-X

Our goal is to provide you the most comfortable and trouble-free results possible with implant dentures in San Diego.

The All-on-4® treatment concept is a good restoration option, but we feel our All-on-X approach, using five or even six implants in each arch, are even more reliable and durable. We don’t charge more to build durability and security with additional implants.

Better Reliability and Support With All-on-X at No Extra Cost

With only 4 implants supporting your bridges, if one fails, it could lead to catastrophic consequences and even failure. We feel that the extra implants we offer will provide you the extra confidence and security you desire and deserve.

We would rather invest a bit more time, effort, and resources in the beginning so that you can enjoy a better end result.

Best of all, we won’t charge you anything more to provide these extra implants for you. All of our surgeries are pre-planned using a 3D scanner and special software program to allow us to select the precise, strong locations for your implants.

    TeethXpress®

Secure, natural looking teeth in as little as one day!

    Is TeethXpress® right for you?

If you are missing one or more teeth due to decay, injury or periodontal disease, you may be a candidate for the TeethXpress dental implant procedure.

TeethXpress® is a superior long-term solution to replace your missing teeth, giving you beautiful, natural looking teeth that will allow you to function as if you had all of your natural teeth in a healthy condition!

The TeethXpress® solution uses dental implants to secure your new set of beautiful teeth, and like natural teeth, the dental implants will stimulate your jawbone when you chew your food. This will help to prevent jawbone loss and secure a new set of beautiful teeth so that you can eat, speak and live confidently without the fear of slipping dentures.

    THE TEETHXPRESS® SOLUTION!

After you have met with our office, we will create a personalized treatment plan and schedule your TeethXpress procedure. During the procedure, your new set of teeth will be secured all on 4 to 6 dental implants. The TeethXpress procedure can typically be completed in one day and can be done under local anesthesia or IV sedation if you prefer to sleep through this process.

Why are traditional dentures not a long-term solution for missing teeth?

Natural teeth have roots that are held in place by the jawbone. It is the tooth roots that stimulate your jawbone each time you chew your food. Since there are no roots to support a denture, a denture cannot function like natural teeth.

Each day you wear a denture, your jawbone shrinks a little more. Eventually, your denture will no longer fit and will need to be replaced due to the loss of jawbone. If you wear a denture, you may have noticed that it slips when you eat or talk and requires an increasing amount of denture adhesive just to keep it in place.

    IMPLANT SUPPORTED DENTURE FAQS

    What are dental implants?

A dental implant is a small component that is positioned in the jaw to replace the root of a missing tooth. A crown can be attached and held in place by a single dental implant or a bridge may be attached to multiple dental implants. Your jawbone bonds to the dental implant to provide permanent support for crowns and bridges. Dental implants are the standard of care for tooth replacement.

What happens when wearing a conventional denture?

When a denture is worn for multiple years, the jawbone begins to shrink from a lack of stimulation that natural tooth roots or dental implants provide. Losing your teeth and wearing a denture will affect your smile and change the shape of your face, causing you to look prematurely aged.

Who is a candidate for the TeethXpress dental implant procedure?

Most adults who have lost most or all of their teeth can be a candidate for TeethXpress. Please ask our office to schedule you for a consultation to explain the benefits of this procedure and find out if you are a candidate for TeethXpress.

    Is the TeethXpress procedure painful?

No, the procedure is typically done under local anesthesia but many patients prefer IV sedation to sleep during the procedure. The TeethXpress procedure is generally performed at our office setting.

How soon may I return to work after treatment?

Patients respond differently to medical and dental procedures. Many patients feel comfortable returning to work the next day, while others prefer to rest for a day or two before returning to work. Based on your specific needs, the office will give you a recommended time frame to resume your daily activities, including work.

How long will the TeethXpress dental implant procedure take?

In general, the TeethXpress procedure can be performed in three to four hours. Our doctor(s) can provide you with a more accurate time frame once we have an opportunity to evaluate your case.

When will I receive my new teeth?

TeethXpress is designed as an immediate solution so that you walk out the same day with secure, natural-looking teeth.

How do I care for my new teeth?

As with natural teeth, it will be important to keep your new smile healthy by following a daily oral hygiene regimen that will be provided for you following the procedure. You will schedule regular follow up visits with your TeethXpress dentist for professional cleanings.

How long will dental implants last?

Dental implants can last many years if cared for properly. It is very common for patients to benefit from the use of their dental implants for 30 years or more. BioHorizons dental implants have an extremely high average success rate (99%).

How long does the long-term value of TeethXpress compare to traditional tooth replacement methods?

In general, multiple studies have shown full-arch, immediate-load, dental implant procedures like TeethXpress to be 95%+ successful. Traditional treatment teeth replacement alternatives like fixed or removeable bridgework and dentures have a much shorter lifespan than the TeethXpress procedure. Therefore, these methods usually require more frequent visits to the dental office for repair work. The long-term value of TeethXpress far exceeds traditional treatment options.

Can dental insurance cover a portion of the TeethXpress procedure?

Yes, most patients with either an Indemnity or PPO dental insurance plan will qualify for some supplemental coverage of the TeethXpress procedure. Our experienced business management team will help you maximize your dental insurance benefits as soon as they receive your dental insurance benefits details.

    What does All-on-4® mean?

All-on-4® is a term used to describe a dental implant procedure that uses four dental implants to support an upper and/or lower set of prosthetic teeth. Clinically, the All-on-4® and TeethXpress® protocols are similar procedures.

    DID YOU KNOW?

Teeth supported by dental implants have been successful for hundreds of thousands of people. The number of patients with dental implants is growing rapidly due to their effectiveness, long-term durability and the high success rate.
