Tips to Avoid a Dental Emergency

Did you know that most dental emergencies are caused by existing dental cavities? The most proactive way to avoid dental emergencies is to maintain a consistent 6-month schedule (more frequent, if your dentist recommends) for your dental exam and cleaning.

  • Do not chew hard candy, ice, or popcorn kernels.
  • NEVER use your teeth to open or cut things – use scissors!
  • Always wear a mouthguard when involved in sports or athletic activities.
