If you do show any of these signs of sleep apnea, call our office immediately.
Sleep apnea may lead to insomnia, snoring or choking in your sleep, and headaches when you wake up. Our dental office may suggest lifestyle changes, oral devices, or surgery for treatment. It varies, though, depending on what works best for each patient.
Treatments for sleep apnea vary depending on the patient. Something as simple as a change of lifestyle can greatly decrease your symptoms. Oral devices can be used to position the mouth differently to stop snoring and improve your condition. Some patients do not improve using a traditional breathing mask at night. The last resort is surgery. The good news is that our doctors work closely with local doctors to treat CPAP intolerant patients with an FDA approved oral device for treating obstructive sleep apnea.
